Reconstruction

Reconstruction Surgery
I was able to combine 4 surgeries using 3 different surgeons all at once, which was fabulous! I just talked with my doctors, starting with my plastic surgeon as reconstruction was the main concern at this time for me. I was able to exchange the tissue expanders for implants, remove the central port, have an oophorectomy, and an umbilical hernia repair. I chose to have the oophorectomy over waiting for a complete hysterectomy per doctor advise and to avoid injections to suppress my ovaries.

Same as the mastectomy you get to sleep on an incline for a while…

I, occasionally, used the headpiece as lumbar support and used my regular pillow for my head. Play with it and see what works for you! When you order, tell them you should get 10% off because I said you deserve it 😊.
Or…this looks comparable, and it’s a little cheaper…

What to Wear
I like the dolman or batwing shirts because they are loose and super easy to put on and take off! It’s a good (if not better) alternative to the button-down shirts that are recommended. These shirts were great for mastectomy, radiation, and pregnancy! I pretty well lived in these for the past year…and was complimented on them! Win-win!
What I purchased are “no longer available.” You can do a search for “dolman short sleeve” or “bat wing short sleeve,” or click on the link below as these are very similar to what I used.
